Consultation Arrangements - Audit Quality Review Board (AQRB)

AQRB: Consultation Arrangements



AQRB has in place a number of formal and informal consultation arrangements in place, including:



Australian Investments and Securities Commission (ASIC)
Informal liaison meetings are held with senior executives of ASIC but only to discuss matters of general relevance to auditing quality and auditor independence in publicly listed companies.

Auditor Consultation Group (ACG)
AQRB representatives meet regularly with representatives of PMAFs, currently PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, KPMG and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, to discuss various matters primarily related to the planning and implementation of the review process.

Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAA), CPA Australia (CPAA) and National Institute of Accountants (NIA)
AQRB has entered into Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) with each of ICAA, CPAA and NIA. Meetings will be held from time to time with the professional bodies and a certain amount of information exchange will take place in accordance with the requirements of the MOUs.

Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AUASB)
Informal meetings will be held with AUASB to discuss matters of mutual interest in relation to auditing standards.

Financial Reporting Council (FRC)
Informal meetings will be held with FRC to discuss matters of mutual interest in relation to auditing and independence standardsand legislation relating to the audit of publicly listed entities
