Mr Cameron is an experienced auditor who has held senior positions in the public sector both in Australia and New Zealand.

His former appointments include:

  • Auditor-General for Victoria, 1999 to 2006
  • Deputy Controller and Auditor-General for New Zealand, 1985 to 1999
  • Officer-in-Charge, London (NZ Audit Office), 1978 to 1981

He has for many years also been an active participant in setting accounting and auditing standards, both in Australia and New Zealand, and internationally:
  • Member, IFAC International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board, 2004 to 2006
  • Member, Australia Accounting Standards Board, 2002 to 2005
  • Member, New Zealand Accounting Research & Standards Board, 1987 to 1993
  • Chair, New Zealand Public sector Accounting Standards Board, 1987 to 1993
  • Member, New Zealand Auditing Standards Board, 1984 to 1987.

Mr Cameron has and continues to be actively involved in the Accounting profession in a range of capacities. Since completing his term as Auditor-General Mr Cameron provides advice on strategy, governance and assurance matters.

Appointed a Director on 8 February 2007.
